SMTP AUTH is required for message submission on port 587. Sobat pasti pernah menerima replay tersebut pada saat melakukan telnet ke mail server. Pesan ini muncul dikarenakan pada mail server masih mengaktifkan fitur AUTH SMTP. Dan hal ini ada hubungannya dengan port 587

Secara default jika fitur ini aktif, port 587 masih bisa digunakan, namun dengan SSL mode dan authentication diaktifkan. Dan pada beberapa kasus, pengguna masih menggunakan mode TLS (non SSL). Perlu dilakukan tweak pada cPanel untuk menangani kasus ini. Goals yang diinginkan adalah : Pengguna tetap menggunakan SMTP dengan port 587 dengan mode TLS - Non SSL

Penyelesaian / Solusi

Berikut step by step yang harus dilakukan

• Pertama-tama pastika terlebih dahulu port 587 telah diopen, disisi Firewall
• Jika menggunakan CSF Firewall seperti yang saya gunakan, dalam WHM klik CSF > Firewall Configuration > IPv4 Port Settings, isikan port 587 pada TCP_IN, TCP_OUT, UDP_IN dan UDP_OUT.
• Pastikan agar port 587 tidak terblokir oleh SMTP_BLOCK milik CSF Firewall, caranya buka CSF > Firewall Configuration > SMTP Settings > SMTP_BLOCK. Jika tidak ingin repot bisa langsung di nonaktifkan fitur ini.
• Namun jika masih ingin mengaktifkan fitur SMTP BLOCK nya, isikan port 587 pada CSF > Firewall Configuration > SMTP Settings > SMTP_PORTS.
• Langkah terakhir, adalah mengaktifkan mode TLS pada WHM
• Buka Home > Service Configuration > Exim Configuration Manager > Security
• Non Aktifkan Require clients to connect with SSL or issue the STARTTLS command before they are allowed to authenticate with the server
• Simpan Konfigurasi Exim cPanel nya
